Build an Online Business Strategy for Long-Term Revenue Growth

I started my company, Broadstreet Consulting, because I had friends with businesses who really needed to be online. The potential to grow their business using the Web was very high, and they wanted to be well positioned for the future.

In many cases my clients have been family businesses, many times with the boss approaching retirement age or at least thinking about it, and thinking about leaving the business to children, or possibly selling out for a comfortable retirement. Many want to pursue other passions outside of work.

In any case, the sustenance of the business was important, and continued growth was important, and so in these cases we began the process that I have started calling “climbing the ladder of Web success”.

If you’re building an online platform, you don’t want to miss my webinar series, The 9 Essentials of Web Success.

  1. Website - We started with a Website and basic reputation management, which today would include claiming your Google My Business listing and managing it. We recommend and support a strong presence on review sites such as Yelp and Trip Advisor when appropriate. The more references you have back to your Website, the more credible you are to the Internet in general and to Google in particular. So it’s good to be listed in places and have links back to your site and bio. Make sure that if someone is looking for you they can find you.
  2. Social Media - For some time, social media has been a “staple” of the way we manage your online presence. We think you should be where your clients and prospects are. Facebook is important, as is Twitter, and even Google+. Your business should be there.  At a minimum your brand is represented there, and people can find out something about you and be directed to your home base, which should be your website. These platforms provide opportunities to expand your reach considerably. They require an investment of time but can have significant cumulative impact.
  3. Email Marketing - Email Marketing works and continues to be one of the most cost effective methods to acquire new customers and stay connected with existing customers. Our team is continuing to challenge ourselves in this area and seeking ways to consistently generate quality leads over a continued long term basis and sales increases follow.
  4. eCommerce - Adding eCommerce capabilities to your small business can open many doors. But for a traditional business that runs things the old fashioned way, it can be a huge change and it takes a full commitment from your entire team.
  5. Pay-Per-Click Advertising - Everyone has an opportunity in Google AdWords. We develop sophisticated campaigns that that drive traffic to the critical web pages to drive phone calls, signups, inquiries online purchases, and much more.

The numbers speak for themselves. In many cases we see consistent long term revenue growth, and clients are well positioned their next wave of growth.
